SPA-C Weathering Steel Element

Cu is more resistant to atmospheric corrosion when used in combination with other elements such as P and Cr. When the Cu content is 0.25%, the steel has good weather resistance. When the content exceeds 0.30%, the corrosion resistance is improved slowly, and the effect of continuously increasing Cu is not large. It is generally not used alone, and it is better to use it in combination with Cu, Cr, etc. When the P content is increased from 0.01% to 0.08%, the steel plate is resistant to the atmosphere. Corrosion performance is greatly improved, and after the P content exceeds 0.08%, the resistance to atmospheric corrosion is not significantly improved. The GB 712-2011 standard specifies the classification and grade, order content, size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, requirements, inspection and test, packaging, marking and quality certificate of structural steel for ships and marine engineering. This standard is applicable to the manufacture of GB 712 EH36 steel plates with thickness of not more than 150 mm, GB 712 EH36 steel sheets and strips less than 25.4 mm and GB 712 EH36 steel profiles with diameter not more than 50 mm for the navigation vessels, fishing vessels and marine engineering structures in the ocean, coastal and inland river navigation areas.
