1018 Cold Rolled Steel

The steel 1018  has a carbon content of 0.18 percent. It is the most common of the cold-rolled steels. 1018 is better steel for carburized parts, since it produces a harder and more uniform case. 1018 steel also has higher mechanical properties and better machinability due to the cold drawing process. In this process, oversize hot rolled bars, which have been cleaned of scale, are drawn through dies to the required size. Cold drawing increases tensile and yield strength but decreases ductility. Cold drawing also increases torsional strength, surface hardness and wear resistance. Due to size limitations of the cold drawing process, large diameter bars are generally turned and polished, the hot roll rounds usually machine turned, rather than drawn, then abrasively polished. 1018 carbon steel products are available in rounds, flats, squares and hexagons, has a relatively large size selection.
1018 Steel Hardening 
This grade of steel is not normally subjected to hardening and tempering treatments as the hardness obtained from such treatments would not warrant their being performed. Carburizing might be carried out at 1620-1690ºF (880-920ºC,) and carbonitriding at 1470 -1600ºF (800-875ºC.)

1045 Carbon Steel Steel

1045 is a medium-carbon steel, made with 0.45% carbon. Medium-carbon steels are stronger than low-carbon steels, but not as easy to weld, and can be tempered by quenching. Yield strength for 1045 steel is much higher than that of 1018, at 76,900 psi, so if the steel needs to flex and return to its original shape, 1045 steel would be preferred to 1018. The elongation of 1045 steel is 12%, so if you need a piece of steel that would stretch before breaking, 1018 is a better choice than 1045.

Q345 Steel Yield Strength

Q345 steel is one kind of Chinese standardized low alloy steel under GB/T1591-2018 standard. "Q" in Q345 material means yield strength, and 345 indicates that the yield strength of this steel is 345MPa. Q345 steel yield strength

The yield strength or yield point is the material property defined as the stress at which a material begins to deform plastically. Prior to the yield point the material will deform elastically and will return to its original shape when the applied stress is removed. Yield strength of Q345B is 345 Mega Pascals. Like most steels of its grade, it suffers elongation before it pulls apart, typically at 20-21 percent of its initial length.
The tensile strength of Q345 steel is the maximum amount of tensile stress that it can take before failure, for example breaking. Steel tensile strength is expressed in units of force divided by cross sectional area; in the Metric system, this unit is known as the Pascal. One Pascal is a Newton  per square meter. The tensile strength of Q345 steel is rated at 470 to 660 Mega Pascals.
